Complete University Guide - Comprehensive Guide with interesting elements - e.g. safety

British Council - government site geared to international applicants.

Council for International Student Affairs - the body that looks after the needs of international students in the UK.  Helpful and informative, including advice on 'home' or 'overseas' fee status.

Oxbridge Info. - a very useful site for those contemplating application to Oxford or Cambridge. 'Profiles' are particularly interesting.

Gap Year?  Year Out? - the best sites for exploring the options for a productive year out between school and college.  Includes some guidance on the pros and cons of taking a gap year.

The Student Room- where students like you share ideas about choosing a university. getting in and student life. They also have a general 'Uni Guide' site here.

The Medic Portal - comprehensive support for those interested in applying for Medicine. Some fees involved but very reasonable. 

UK Clinical Aptitude Test - this website gives you information on this requirement for most UK medical schools.

BMAT, TSA - this website gives you information on this requirement for some UK medical schools and other Assessment Tests such as TSA.

LNAT - this website gives you information on this requirement for some UK Law degrees.

 

 

College Board - a comprehensive guide to college application. College search facility, 'Big Future' and some very helpful articles. Register for SAT here.

Common App - where you apply for many colleges and much more.

American Universities and Colleges -online version of an excellent magazine produced by the Council of International Schools.

U.S.News - College Rankings and more.

College Navigator – unattractive interface but reliable government site full of data. To gain the full benefit, use preferences with care (and some patience) to gain best results. 

Cappex -  popular site that is best known for scholarships and free application but also has a College Search with Chance of Admission estimate and gives your details (not personal) to matching colleges who might send you emails etc. 

College Express - College and Scholarship searches with lots of interesting lists from 'College Finder'.

Niche - formerly 'College Prowler', Niche now combines large data sets with subjective student views and reviews of colleges - read with care at times.

College Confidential - Primarily Discussion Forums but also college match facility and useful articles.

SAT/ACT Compared - Infographic from 'Magoosh'

TOEFL - the official site of the Educational Testing Service.

Campus Tours - YouVisit - Campus 360 - good sites for Virtual Campus Tours.

Campus Safety and Security - compare stats but understand context and limitations.

Universities Canada -  is an excellent starting point for your research, using the 'Search programs' function.

Study in Canada - a comprehensive site dealing with all aspects of the Canadian education system.

EduCanada - official site for searching your H.E. options and more. Good search engine.

Macleans - the online route to the Macleans magazine 'Good University Guide' - rankings and more.
